There is no consensus to use this template and {{u|ListeriaBot}} to maintain lists in article space per [[Wikipedia:Bots/Noticeboard/Archive 13#Re-examination of ListeriaBot]]. Any uses of this template in mainspace will produce an error message ({{error|There is no consensus to use [[Template:Wikidata list]] in articles}}) and populate [[:Category:Pages with templates in the wrong namespace]], and will not be updated.
The use of this template and {{u|ListeriaBot}} to maintain lists in article space is contentious. There is currently no project-wide consensus on whether it is generally appropriate,<ref>[[Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Wikidata Phase 2]]</ref> but in several specific instances the local consensus has been to disable it.<ref>[[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of female Egyptologists]]</ref><ref>[[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of women linguists]]</ref> Editors should exercise caution and seek consensus on the article's talk page if the template is objected to.
